Wine Hikes: Tom Robinson

Posted by Isaac Forman on

Tom Robinson & Ashley Coats are a couple of guys I know who have a great wine label called Head in the Clouds Wines. They make honest wines from a mixture of mainstream and emerging vareitals that I recommend checking out.

In their spare time Tom & Ashley are educators, writers, musicians, enthusiastic wine drinkers & Tom in particular loves the outdoors.

Combining these loves, the guys have planned a series of Wine Hikes through the Adelaide Hills through the Spring, one of the most beautiful times to visit this region.

Tom is a hilarious guy, full of energy & excitement about all things wine. I can only imagine the kind of fun these hikes are going to be, so if you love a bit of fun, the outdoors and wine, check out the details of this cool initiative.

WINE HIKES.

The concept is simple. Wine is a natural product and nature is a wonderful setting in which to enjoy great wines with fun company. Bring along your friends and some gourmet picnic goodies to share and plan to make new acquaintances. Hiking gets the juices flowing and when the corks start popping, it is up, up and away!

Tom Robinson is the winemaker for Head in the Clouds Wines and a great lover of the outdoors. He has been involved in Wine education for years and won the Gourmet Traveller Wine New Writer’s Award  in 2012.  Expect to be informed and entertained as exciting wines are presented along scenic trails with beautiful views!

Be sure to save the dates and book in to our wine hikes early as group sizes are limited.  Each hike will cover different wine themes with liberal tastings of up to a dozen wines taking place in diverse environments. The cost is nominal, as the experience of drinking ‘wines in the wild’, come rain or shine, is priceless.
