The Great Pinot Pick began in March 2010, nestled within the peaks and valleys surrounding Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills. 14 good friends joined me on a mild Saturday morning to pick the first harvest of Pinot Noir for Vinteloper Wines. In 2011, although the weather was not to mild, that number grew to 26. In 2012, 31 souls committed mind and body to this earthly pursuit and in 2013 the interest list is already at a daunting number, so now is the time to commit.
The success of the day is it's simple formula - frock up, pick a few grapes, eat good food & drink some fine wine. At the end of it, you get a truly unique experience and your name on the bottle of the 2013 Pinot Noir.
This email is your official invitation to come along and spend a couple of hours frolicking between the vines with a pair of snips and a smile.
Critical things to know:
1) Date: Saturday 16th March 2013.
2) Cost: $50pp - Includes:
Coach transport to and from vineyard,
Breakfast on arrival,
Everything you need to snip and pick,
Lunch at Little Miss Mexico,
PLENTY of Vinteloper Wine with Lunch.
A truly unique experience, plus, staying with tradition, those who attend are immortalised with their names included on the Vinteloper Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir label.
3) It is an early start. The meeting point is The Vinteloper Urban Winery Project in Little Miss Mexico at 7:30am. 188 Grenfell St (enter off Union St).
4) The dress code is Vintage. Get some ideas from previous years 2011 and 2012. I'd like you to go for that Vintage "Sunday best" look, just don't wear anything expensive as it may get juicy / grubby. Op shop suits / gowns are recommended....
5) Numbers are limited to 26 so please purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.
So if you are keen to do something different and have fun while doing it purchase tickets here.
