Urban Winery Project Red # 4
POPPING UP IN DISUSED URBAN SPACES, WE MOVE IN OUR WINEMAKING EQUIPMENT, DELIVER GRAPES RIGHT TO THE HEART OF THE CITY & SHARE THE MAGIC OF WINEMAKING.
LIP-SMACKING! KNITTED TOGETHER LIKE CRACKLING AND APPLE SAUCE.
YOU THE PEOPLE HAVE STOMPED AND SPOKEN.
WHAT, WHERE, WHEN?
Behind the curtain of winemaking
Gather & Tailor Warehouse - West Melbourne.
This is a wine by the people, for the people. A blend of the best components of the batches produced at the Urban Winery Project Season 5, held in Melbourne during March 2016.
225 people helped foot stomp, basket press & transfer this wine to oak for maturation, tasting it along the way. Each of them has their names printed on a different bottle, so somewhere out there in the world are 10 bottles with only their name on it.
The mantra of the Urban Winery Project is participation, education (and as well as a healthy dose of emancipation), collaboration. Each year the UWP labels are created for us by artists we love. The label for Red # 4 comes from Sydney artist Lauren Webster (@laurenlostboys).
