Vinteloper - ODEON

These wines are collectable & timeless.

As provocative as they are limited.

Named after the ancient amphitheatres in which artists performed their craft, these wines represent the purity and dichotomy of art.

 OR/18 'ODEON' Riesling [2018]

Like when you're feeling the thirst for extravagance. ODEON Riesling is fully loaded.
A nine-volt battery to the tongue; this is avant-garde Australian Riesling, intentionally released after maturation in bottle.
It's citrus fruit and orange blossom wrapped in honey glazed toasted muesli. Then spice, ginger and those Clare Valley mineral undertones build to a slick finish. Although drinking superbly now, the body and structure combined with acidity will see this wine reward cellaring for 10+ years.

11.5% alc/vol.
Harvest date: 2nd March 2018
Single Vineyard, Watervale, Clare Valley.

OPN/16 'ODEON' Pinot Noir [2016]

A tense and feminine facade belies the potency and virtue that follows.
The ultra-lean colour leads the discussion and expecting to have to look hard, you dive into the glass. Immediately you're slapped back by the complex assault of spice, herb, cherry and orange rind.
On the palate the structure is equally shocking. It's muscular, a wolf in sheep's clothing, with flavour that persists far beyond anything that would be considered reasonable.

13.5% alc/vol

OSH/16 'ODEON' Shiraz [2016]

ODEON Shiraz is simply a statement about who we are.

AVICII said, "One day you'll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember".

Treated with the kind of obsessive intent it takes to build a legacy wine, we've put years of study and obsession into the bottle here.
The power and elegance build rather than assault. You pick elements of dark fruit, mocha, dried bay and char as the structure builds to a crescendo. The tannins are built to last, and we recommend cellaring for 10+ years. Our tribute to Shiraz and to those who chase it around the world.
