One-off collab wines.
Evidence that our wine community is full of incredible people.

Immediately after the Adelaide Hills Bushfire, old friends from far and wide reached out to offer a hand. Two of those people had the brilliant idea that since we'd lost our grapes, and would struggle to make as much wine, that they would make and donate some to us. This is the result...

Dan Stocker (Heretic Wines) is part of the Alumni of Winemakers who stuck their neck out to support us in our recovery. A winemaker with many strings to his bow, Dan has championed minimal intervention winemaking via the Heretic Wines enterprise, a philosophy we share at Vinteloper from vine to the glass.

When it comes to Shiraz, most of us know what we're getting, which is what makes this wine so appealing.

There is the traditional plum and black currant, but it's pushed along with wild game, violet and sage. Dark chocolate, a tickle of black pepper and violet plays with the mid-palate as the mouth fills with the richness of those fruit flavours as we reach the final stanza.

Delicious doesn't sum this up. It's deeper and more serious.

Sourcing their components from an Organic vineyard in the Wilyabrup subregion of Margaret River, prior to starting life at Vinteloper, the 650L Demi-muid had only a small amount of sulphur added to protect it on the road to us.

No other additions or fining.

Our Adelaide Hills component displayed the typical chocolate and menthol characters of our cool climate region. Sourced from a small block in the southern end of the Adelaide Hills, near Kuitpo, it presented the perfect component to compliment the spice, game and pepper from the Heretic blend.

We upheld that minimal style here, so no fining or filtration, choosing to let the purity and attention to detail shine through.
