SP/23 - Rosé

Harmony like Boyz II Men...

Carefree. A Modern Rosè that's ready for anything.

A milestone for us, in the form of Rosè.
The first fully estate-grown Vinteloper wine since the 2019/2020 Cudlee Creek fires. 

Like biting into the perfect apple, it should be thrilling and satisfying at the same time, and this wine represents both for everyone at Vinteloper, and all our loyal supporters.

Perfectly pale, the colour of our ‘23 is a window into the crisp, minerally style we’ve settled on.

The aromatic opening features fresh fruit, white flowers and a tiny hint of ground white pepper.

Building from there the palate brings in layers of Watermelon, cumquat and star fruit.

Texturally there’s added intrigue, as it resembles biting into a slice of fresh lime, buzzing over the tongue.

A Rose that possesses a refined subtlety.

Shiraz + Pinot Noir.
80% Shiraz from Vinteloper.
Made like white wine, giving us complex dry Rosè flavour.
Harvested 29th & 30th March.

20% Pinot Noir from Vinteloper.
A Saignee, the first time we’ve used this technique.
Harvested 5th April.

Partial MLF. Unfined.
Bottled 29th August 2023. Vegan friendly.

Shiraz (80%)
We specifically managed and grew these grapes, from our estate Vineyards, for the Rose-style wine. What does that mean?
We put extra time into growing a balanced crop.
We worked towards a very early harvest to retain freshness, acidity, and keep alcohol low.

Pinot Noir (20%)
Saignée (“sohn-yay”) means “to bleed,” and it also describes a method of rosé winemaking that involves “bleeding” off a portion of red wine juice after it’s been in contact with the skins and seeds.
It works to make your Rose super-interesting as well as concentrate your Pinot Noir red wine.
