So smooth you immediately understand why Touriga is Portugal’s top-dog red grape. 

Like sucking on a soft salted caramel as you soak up the warm summer sunshine. It’s the low and slow-cooked brisket of red wine.

It really only needs one word. DELICIOUS. Following on from the great pedigree of 2016 and 2018, this one promises a lot.

The complexity and interest that meets you in the glass here is truly intriguing.

Opening with a predictable unctuous red fruit profile, it leaps to Christmas cake, clove, cinnamon and effortlessly slides to dark fruit and lifted violet aromatics.

Cue that signature Touriga mouthfeel, full flavour but medium body. It fills the mouth with raspberry jam and sweet blackberry.

On the finish; a very unique Szechuan peppercorn edge leaves the palate tingling.

29-year-old vines.

Region: Langhorne Creek
Just 1km from Lake Alexandrina this vineyard is heavily maritime influenced.

Harvested 25th March 2020.
Once picked, we destemmed and crushed, then allowed
indigenous yeast to conduct the fermentation, leaving the skins in contact for 15 days.

Maturation? French Oak for 18 months.
Bottled without fining or filtration.
